🎱 NO-SHOW BINGO

3-click calendar booking

If it takes 3 clicks to book on your calendar, there's no client involvement. That's scheduling, not booking.

Manual price calculation

Calculating prices by hand means inconsistency. Inconsistency means surprise bills. Surprise bills mean ghosting.

Self-booking abandoned

You tried self-booking but gave up. That means clients are back to the friction that causes no-shows.

Back-and-forth scheduling

Every extra message is a chance for the client to lose interest. Streamline or lose them.

No-show protection not prevention

Charging after a no-show doesn't prevent the next one. Prevention beats punishment every time.

Client didn't pick the time

When the groomer assigns the time, the client has zero ownership of the appointment. No stake = no show.

No buffer time planned

Back-to-back bookings mean one no-show dominoes into your whole day. Buffers protect your sanity.

No payment check before booking

No card on file = no skin in the game. A deposit or saved card is the #1 no-show killer.

No order, just appointment

An appointment without services attached is just a time slot. Orders create accountability.

No client portal

Without a portal, clients can't see their appointments, history, or balance. Out of sight, out of mind.

System says confirmed but asks to confirm

If your software marks it confirmed then sends a 'please confirm' text, nobody trusts the status.

Confirmed before client confirmed

If your system marks 'confirmed' before the client actually says yes, you're lying to yourself.

🆓 You had a no-show

Let's be honest — everyone has. That's why you're here. This one's on the house.

Client dropped off and left

Drop-off without clear pickup time = they forgot about you. Communication gaps cause no-shows.

No coat photo requested

No photo = surprise matting = blown schedule. A photo upfront sets expectations for both sides.

Hired VA to fix self-booking

If you need a human to manage your booking system, the system is broken. Automate the friction away.

Generic time estimate

Telling every client '2 hours' regardless of breed/coat is a recipe for mismatched expectations.

Flat-rate pricing

Flat rates hide the real value of your work. Clients don't appreciate what they can't see.

Used Groupon once

Groupon clients are price-shoppers, not loyal customers. High volume, high no-show rate.

No vaccination check

Skipping vax checks means you're not filtering for serious clients. Responsible pet owners expect this.

Groomer assigns time not client

When clients pick their own time, they commit. When you assign it, it's your appointment, not theirs.

Sent confirm-decline day before

Asking 'are you coming?' gives them an easy out. Confirmations should happen at booking, not the day before.

Client has unpaid balance

A client who owes you money is statistically more likely to ghost. Payment friction = no-show risk.

Client can't see the price

Hidden pricing breeds distrust. If they don't know the cost upfront, they're more likely to bail.

No behavior history checked

Not checking bite/behavior history means you're booking blind. Surprises lead to cancellations.
